Hudson Valley Roller Hockey League

 
The purpose of the Hudson Valley Roller Hockey League (HVRHL)  is the development and promotion of roller hockey. The league has participating teams from Orange, Dutchess, Rockland, Putnam and Westchester Counties in New York.

The Junior FireAnts have participated in the HVRHL since 2009.
      In 2009, the Junior FireAnts were represented in the 8U, 12U and 14U Divisions.
      In 2010, the Junior FireAnts were represented in the 10U, 14U and 16U Divisions.

USA Hockey InLine Registration Required

In order to participate in HVRHL games, players must first be registered with USA Hockey InLine. A player who has a current USA Hockey ice registration must still register with USA Hockey InLine.  

To register, click on the USAHIL Registration button in the lefthand column of the homepage, and follow the instructions on that page.

USAHIL membership registration runs from September 1 through August 31 (e.g., September 1, 2009 through August 31, 2010).


 

Required & Recommended Equipment for HVRHL Games

IMPORTANT: Outdoor Wheels or Set of Outdoor Skates Recommended 

Almost all of the HVRHL hockey rinks are outdoor rinks. The one exception is the Ice Time Sports Complex, where the Newburgh team plays.  As a result, it is highly recommended that players have either
  • A set of outdoor wheels for their skates, or
  • A set of outdoor skates in addition to their usual indoor skates.
Required Equipment

We have been advised that HVRHL officials are diligent about checking to see that players have the required protective equipment. Please make sure you pack all of the following equipment (in addition to jerseys, pants, skates and sticks) before you set out for any of the New York rinks.

2010 HVRHL Playoff Dates Set

The HVRHL Playoff dates have been set for the following weekends:

August 6 - August 8:     12U, 16U and 21U Playoffs

August 13 - August 15:    8U, 10U and 14U Playoffs

More information will be provided, as it becomes available.

 


2010 All-Star Day -- July 3, 2010

Each year, the HVRHL holds an All Star Day. This year's All Star Day will take place on Saturday, July 3rd at Ice Time Sports in Newburgh. There will be a skills competition and an All-Star Game at each age level.
 
The skills competition will consist of four events:
  1. Fastest skater
  2. Most accurate shot
  3. Closest to the pin (or Hardest shot)
  4. Toughest goalie  
Awards will be provided for each event.

The All-Star Day Schedule is as follows:


  8U will play from 9:00 to 10:30
10U will play from 10:30 to Noon
12U will play from Noon to 2:00
14U will play from 2:00 to 4:00
